When do sessions run, where and what do they cost?

We run sessions on Saturdays and on Wednesdays. For details, see below.

Saturday sessions for children aged 5-7 years old

These regular Saturday sessions for 5-7 year olds last 45 minutes and run from 09.15-10.00am.

Venue: the Dance Studio, Munrow Sports Centre, University of Birmingham, Edgbaston, Birmingham.

Each 45-minute session costs £4.00 and must be booked in advance termly or half-termly.

Saturday sessions for children aged 3-5 years old

These regular Saturday sessions for 3-5 year olds last 45 minutes and run from 10.10-10.55am.

Venue: the Dance Studio, Munrow Sports Centre, University of Birmingham, Edgbaston, Birmingham.

Each 45-minute session costs £4.00 and must be booked in advance termly or half-termly.

Wednesday sessions for children 18-30 months old

These regular Wednesday morning sessions for 18-30 month olds last 30 minutes and run from 09.45-10.15am.

Venue: Quinbourne Community Centre, Ridgacre Road, Quinton, Birmingham.

Each 30-minute session costs £2.80 and must be booked in advance termly or half-termly.

Wednesday sessions for children 2½ to just under 5 years old

These regular Wednesday morning sessions for 2½ to 5-year old children last 45 minutes and run from 10.30-11.15am.

Wednesday morning sessions are held in Quinbourne Community Centre, Ridgacre Road, Quinton, Birmingham.

Each 45-minute session costs £3.50 and must be booked in advance termly or half-termly.

Do I need to reserve a place?

Yes, places need to booked in advance (see above).

What are the term dates?

Saturday classes: Saturday 6 September 2008 - Saturday 6 December 2008.

No classes on Saturday 25 October and Saturday 1 November 2008 due to half term.

Wednesday classes: Wednesday 5 November 2008 - Wednesday 10 December 2008.

Where are they held?

Saturday morning sessions are held in the Dance Studio, Munrow Sports Centre, University of Birmingham, Edgbaston, Birmingham.

Wednesday morning sessions are held in Quinbourne Community Centre, Ridgacre Road, Quinton, Birmingham.

What should my child wear?

Children taking part in the exercises need to wear non-slip trainers or pumps, loose comfortable clothing such as a tracksuit or t-shirt and shorts.

Why do you have separate age groups?

We have different age groups so that the activities are matched to the children's stages of development.

18–30 months and 2½ to 5 years old on Wednesdays.

3–5 years and 5–7 years on Saturdays.

What do the sessions involve?

Each session includes a warm up and a cool down with stretches, a variety of fun games, including exercises to music and equipment such as parachute, hoops, bean bags, balls. We use simple and safe items and they are all easily obtainable if you wish to continue the fun at home.

What games do you play in the sessions?

We play a variety of carefully chosen games, taking into account the children's ages and their stage of development.

What will my child learn about their body?

Children will learn how the body responds to exercise, the skeleton, muscles, heart (cardiovascular system) and nutrition required for the body to function healthily.
